Counselors List Eagle Required 1st Yr. Pioneer Trail Electives
Merit badges are the bread and butter ingredients for the advanced to the ranks of Star, Life, Eagle, and Palm Scout. They offer a young man a glimps of the world beyond his normal activity. Some are critical to each of these advanced ranks, but many offer an organized way for exploring new horizions.
The troop needs counselors for every merit badge. As a parent of a Scout or as member of the Little Rock First Baptist Church, you are encouraged to contact the Scoutmaster to be of service for a particular merit badge or badges as might relate to one of your skills. There are no dues for this service, but you must be registered with the Quapaw Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Your reward for being of help will be the satisfaction of helping a young man explore an area of deep interest to you. To help, simply complete the MBC Personal Data form, and an adult Scout application, which you can get from your Scoutmaster or the Troop Librarian.
The merit badges are listed in the order of those required for Scout rank advancement to Eagle Scout and electives beyond. When a boy completes a Scouting career he builds knowledge about many possible life endeavors and useful skills. We challenge anyone to name one other activity that offers so much to a boy’s confidence building as does Boy Scouts. If your boy isn’t in Boy Scouts, he certainly should be a member!
